I would catch it part way and as soon as Linda Blair's head did a 360..I changed the channel:) The part that really creeped me out was when Linda Blair crawled down those stairs--shudder! Many people freaked out at Frankenstein's monster and King Kong. You did have the German Expressionism come out in the 30's horror films. I still have to see Night of the Living Dead but ..too scared to.
